Moscow hosts global summit on heroin plague

The very best minds in the anti-narcotics business are holding a major conference in Moscow. The primary concern is the flow of drugs from Afghanistan, something that is far more destructive than terrorism
About

“Afghan drug traffic is like a tsunami constantly breaking over Russia – we are sinking in it,” said Victor Ivanov, director of Russia’s Federal Service for the Control of Narcotics. “To help Russia stop being the world’s biggest consumer of Afghan heroin, we have to fight this problem at its root.” Part of that fight involves cooperating with U.S. forces operating in Afghanistan. Can stopping the spread of drugs be one issue Russisa and the United States can tackle together?
