Baumgertner criminal charges detailed
Belarusian investigators have detailed the criminal charges brought against Uralkali General Director Vladislav Baumgertner.
"After additional evidence was obtained and new circumstances uncovered, investigators detailed and expanded upon the charges brought against Baumgertner and the other suspects," Interfax was told at the Belarusian Investigative Committee.
"Nineteen case files dealing with the suspected damage on Russia's interests have been selected and referred to the Belarusian Prosecutor General's Office," a source said.
The Investigative Committee and Russian law enforcement agencies continue investigating the criminal case against Baumgertner and top managers of the Belarusian Potash Company, the source said.
Baumgertner's defense attorney Dmitry Goryachko declined to speculate on how extensive the adjustments were.
He said Baumgertner's defense lawyers made a written statement not to disclose the details of the preliminary investigation.
He said he had seen his client earlier on Friday.
Uralkali head placed under house arrest in Minsk
Russian potash miner Uralkali CEO Vladislav Baumgertner, who was arrested in Belarus a month ago, has been transferred from a State Security Committee remand center to a rented apartment in Minsk where he was placed under house arrest, Baumgertner's Russian lawyer Alexei Basistov told Interfax.
