Sobyanin leads with 56 percent, Navalny ranks second with 29 percent
Acting Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin is leading in the Moscow mayoral election with 56% of the vote. Opposition activist Alexei Navalny comes second with 29%, according to the exit poll conducted by the Center for Political Technologies.
Communist Party candidate Ivan Melnikov ranks third with 9% of the vote.
The other three candidates - Mikhail Degtyaryov of the Liberal Democratic Party, Nikolai Levichev of A Just Russia and Sergei Mitrokhin of Yabloko - have 2% each.
The exit polls were held at 600 polling stations and involved 18,800 respondents.
The exit poll conducted by the Public Opinion Foundation says Sobyanin has 52.5%, and Navalny 29.1%. The information was posted by the Rossiya 24 channel.
