Russian, British ministers to discuss missile defense, Middle east, Iran
The Russian foreign and defense ministers and the British secretaries of state for defense and foreign affairs will meet in London on Wednesday to discuss European security issues, including the prospects of interaction on the architecture of the European missile defense, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported on Monday.
"The upcoming meeting will address European security issues, including the prospects of development of equal interaction on the architecture of the European missile defense systems and the current situation in the Middle East and in the Arab world in general. We expect to have a specific discussion on Afghanistan, the Iranian nuclear program, and the situation on the Korean Peninsula," the Russian Foreign Ministry's information and press department said in a commentary.
"The ministers of defense and foreign affairs and secretaries of state for foreign affairs and defense are also expected to have separate meetings to have a detailed discussion on the state and prospects of development of Russian-British relations in the sphere of politics, trade and economics, and culture, as well as military and military-technical cooperation," the Russian Foreign Ministry's information and press department said in its commentary.
The meeting participants are expected to adopt a number of documents.
