Forty people injured in the meteorite fall are receiving hospital treatment in the Chelyabinsk region, a source at the Russian Health Ministry told Interfax on Saturday.
"Some 40 people, including three children, are hospitalized. The others are receiving outpatient treatment," he said.
"According to updated reports, 1,183 people, among them, 291 children, have asked for medical assistance in the Chelyabinsk region," the source said.
An earlier report quoting the regional health ministry said that twelve adults and three children remained at the hospital and the others had been discharged. Most of the patients got laceration wounds from window glass broken by the meteorite blast wave.
