Putin demands guarantees of pension savings safety

Rigorous control ought to be exercised over the safety of citizens' pension savings during the pension system reform, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

"We should guarantee that this money will not disappear and will not be ransacked," he said at a government session on Thursday.
"I would not like to speak about the presumption of innocence in business, and I will not do so. But, nevertheless, we have already encountered sad instances such as citizens deceived by real estate developers," the president said.
"It will be both unacceptable and downright criminal to apply it once again in relation to the pension system," he said.
