Clinton trying to distort Russian position on Syria - Foreign Ministry
Outgoing U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's allegation of Russia's unwillingness to execute the Geneva Communique is a biased and incorrect interpretation of the Russian position on Syria, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich told a Thursday press briefing in Moscow.
"U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has made a number of comments in an interview with the National Public Radio to suggest Russian unwillingness to make progress in the fulfillment of the Geneva accords," he said.
"We have said before that U.S. representatives frequently make biased or even completely erroneous interpretations of the Russian position on Syria in their public statements. The same is true about the aforesaid comment by the U.S. secretary of state that cannot be viewed other than an attempt to turn it (the Russian position) upside down," the diplomat said.
