Luciano Ventrone’s parallel world as part of the 5th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art
From September 20th to October 20th Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art will take place, with Vremena Goda Galleries as one of the traditional venues.
In 2013, for the first time in Moscow, as part of Moscow Biennale of Contemporary Art's Parallel Program, Vremena Goda jointly with K35 Art Gallery will present 'Parallel World', the exhibition of leading Italian hyperrealist painter Luciano Ventrone. Among the exhibits there will be selected still life paintings, as well as the 'Mosaic' painting which was demonstrated at the Italian National Pavilion during the 54th Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art. The exhibition will be held on the Galleries' first floor, with its high light-filled atrium perfectly suitable for exhibiting fine arts.
When you look at Luciano Ventrone's paintings for the first time, you will wonder if that is photography or digital photo prints. It is hard to believe that these reflections of reality were created using an ordinary brush and oil paint on canvas. In his paintings, Ventrone, one of the most distinguished hyperrealists of today, transforms the world making it even more tangible and attractive than we can see with the naked eye.
Luciano Ventrone's paintings depicting fruits and flowers, landscapes and naked human body are based on real objects and spaces. The artists takes them to the canvas with utmost attention to the detail, to the smallest nuances of light and shade, becoming the successor of Caravaggio and other major representatives of realism.
Luciano Ventrone's respect to the traditions of the past, his talent and craftsmanship combined with modern technologies, help his artwork to open the door into a different, parallel world, so close and so unfamiliar, the world that we can explore when we look at the creations of this contemporary Italian artist.
