Russian Space Systems management system to undergo structural changes - new general director
Russian Space Systems (RSS) plans to make structural changes to the holding's management system and involve new personnel in the management of the holding, Gennady Raikunov, who was appointed general director of RSS in late February, said in his first interview with Interfax-AVN.
"Russian Space Systems is a holding. Consequently, the holding's enterprises should have a unified scientific and industrial policy, a unified quality management system, a unified personnel selection and personnel training system, and a unified press service. Unfortunately, RSS currently has some functions that overlap, which we will remove," Raikunov said.
Raikunov said the collegium of the holding's enterprises will be restored in RSS. It will meet quarterly and will discuss the technical and personnel policies and other issues, he said. "We will also tackle new comprehensive tasks and look for new niches," he said.
Guided by Roscosmos, the holding will pursue a unified "external" policy, including in the placement of GLONASS systems abroad.
"The solution of these tasks requires certain structural changes in the management of the enterprise and personnel selection. We will be drawing young people to the enterprise," Raikunov said.
