Russian diplomats remain in New York despite hurricane

No plans are being considered thus far to evacuate Russian diplomats and their families from New York over Hurricane Sandy, aide to the Russian consul in New York, Maxim Vladimirov, told Interfax.
The Russian Consulate General's hotline service continues working, he said.
"Citizens are not being received given gusts of wind and rain. Public transport services have been canceled, except taxi services. Some of the roadways have been closed due to flooding or the threat of flooding," Vladimirov said.
Whether or not the Consulate General will resume its work on Tuesday will depend on the weather, he said.
"The Consulate General's website carries the contact telephone numbers and updates for citizens on reception procedures," the diplomat said.
