"The deepening of civilized, fair and mutually beneficial partnership in military-technical cooperation is a major instrument in providing for the foreign political interests of our country. This is an inseparable part of our response to global challenges and threats," he said at a meeting of the Military Technical Cooperation Commission.
He also noted the need for higher efficiency by intergovernmental commissions in order to strengthen coordination with key military-technical cooperation partners.
The president called the attention of the commission members to "the priority" of such approaches to military-technical cooperation, especially with Russia's traditional partners.
"We need to upgrade military-technical cooperation agreements and laws, to adjust bilateral and multilateral documents to present-day realities and, what is most important, draft a long-term cooperation program," the head of state stressed.
