Pubic monitors speak of professionalism of police during opposition action in Moscow
Public monitors have praised the actions of the Moscow police during the Saturday opposition action in the city center.
"On the whole my colleagues and I who worked today evaluated the work of the police as skilled. Moreover, it is apparent that the police department this time prepared even more thoroughly, taking into account all the criticism," Public Chamber member Olga Kostina said on Saturday.
She said that law enforcers increased the number of people scanners and every officer carried a badge with his or her name which she described as a manifestation of respect for the public.
Kostina also singled out the work of the police at the time when participants in the procession crossed the Garden Ring.
Meanwhile, chairman of the Committee for Civil Rights Andrei Babushkin singled out firstly, the absence of excessive police forces, secondly, the politeness of the police, thirdly, the determination to stop actions breaking public order.
"I like the way the police work today," he said.
Member of the Public Council with the Moscow city police Vladimir Khimanych also spoke of the professionalism of the officers.
"I have no complaints to make about the city police," he said.
