Dmitry Medvedev marks his 47th birthday
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev marks his birthday on September 14.
Medvedev, who was the youngest president in Russia's history, turns 47 on Friday. He has been president for four years and prime minister for over four months.
Medvedev is not scheduled to hold any public events on Friday, the government press service told Interfax.
Medvedev normally works on his birthday and celebrates in the evening with his family and friends.
Medvedev has said many times that he considers birthdays to be family holidays and an opportunity to spend time with his family.
President Vladimir Putin is expected to congratulate Medvedev by telephone. He also intends to give a gift to him.
"As Vladimir Vladimirovich [Putin] is staying in Sochi now, while Dmitry Anatolyevich [Medvedev] is in Moscow, congratulations will be said by telephone and birthday presents will be passed, to be sure," presidential press officer Dmitry Peskov told reporters on September 13.
Medvedev, who became president of Russia at the age of 42, is among the world's five youngest state leaders. In the G8 and G20 countries, only British Prime Minister David Cameron is one year younger than Medvedev.
Medvedev was born in Leningrad on September 14, 1965.
