Russia urges North African governments to prevent attacks on foreign missions
The Russian Foreign Ministry has denounced the attack on U.S. diplomatic missions in Egypt and Libya and urged the governments of the region not to permit similar actions in the future.
"Moscow is deeply troubled by the developments in Cairo and especially in Benghazi that resulted in the tragic death of four American diplomats, including the U.S. ambassador in Libya. We express our sincere condolences and sympathy to the families and friends of the dead," Interfax was told at the ministry's information and press department.
"We strongly condemn the attack on foreign diplomatic missions and their personnel as manifestations of terrorism that cannot be justified in any way," a department official said.
