Russia is ready to continue dialog with Japan on concluding a peace treaty on the basis of the UN Charter, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.
"We, of course, are ready to discuss any issue that our Japanese colleagues are interested in, including the conclusion of a peace treaty," Lavrov told a news conference on Wednesday.
Russia is ready to continue the talks in order to search for agreements that will reckon with each other's interests acceptable for the people of both countries, he said.
"One of the cornerstones is the need to rest on the legitimacy, including, of course, the recognition of the UN Charter," Lavrov said.
